There have been reports that in February 2013 Watson Pharmaceuticals
stopped adding blue dye to their Watson 540 acetaminophen/hydrocodone
pills, and now they are white-colored,
without a hint of blue. However, they are still available as the
same generic Lortab, or generic Vicodin, or generic Norco 500/10 pills.
A combination of acetaminophen
(APAP, paracetamol) and hydrocodone is used to treat moderate
to severe pain. Hydrocodone belongs to narcotic pain relievers.
Acetaminophen is a milder pain reliever and a fever reducer
that increases the effects of hydrocodone.
